In March 2016, after a conference on Women's Rights, within the framework of the Third Women's Forum; A group of volunteers decided to get together to carry out an investigation on domestic violence in the Ecuadorian community residing in London.

This study showed that 42% of women and men had suffered domestic violence; and 4 out of 10 participants had been victims of psychological abuse.

These results motivated us to create the Family Emotional Wellbeing Project (FEWP). In February 2017 we started organizing workshops on mental health and domestic violence issues. We registered as a C.I.C.  in 2018,  and  began a  collaboration with the Consulate of Ecuador in London, providing services to the Latin American community in the Consulate's office.

Due to the significant rise in demand for our services during the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to successfully continued and expand our operations by utilising virtual platforms.

Since 2022 we have been running most of our workshops and activities in Portsoken Community Centre, located in Algate, City of London.
